Should You Move In With The Person You Are Dating
When you are out in the dating world, it usually only takes a few encounters with someone to know whether are not you would like to continue seeing them. If you do not want to see them again after the first or second date, it can be a awkward situation to be in because the other person might be crazy about you. The feeling must be mutual because to continue seeing them when you know there is no future for you and they could be hoping for one, is just wrong. If you are going to date around looking for that special partner, then you have to be brave enough to face head on the possibility that you might have to hurt a few feelings along the way even if you dislike it immensely.
Sometimes when a person does find someone that they really like a lot and thinks there could be a future between them, the question of moving in together is usually bound to come up unless both parties are really religious and would not entertain such a thought. It can really put the pressure on. While you might really enjoy the company of the one you are dating and might even already have feelings of love for them, that does not necessarily mean that you are ready to live with them.
Living together will mean a complete change of life from what you have now. It will no longer be just your home or apartment, but theirs as well. You will lose the privacy and some of the freedom that you might still enjoy. You will have to do intimate things around each other that you might not be comfortable enough with yet. There will be the issues of splitting the bills and who owns what. Even if there are some ground rules set in the beginning about both of you still having freedom to choose what you wish to do, it does not always end up this way after that final step is made and your belongings become mixed in with theirs.
It is all too easy for a live in relationship to take on the trappings of marriage. This might not be the intentions of either of you in the beginning, but sharing a life together in this way can lead to possessiveness and one or both of you might start expecting certain things from one another that you are not really entitled to just living together if you are not careful. This is because when you live together, it is no longer me, but we. In the beginning you might have both agreed that you will have your friends and are free to go and come as you please, but this usually never lasts. They might decide that they had rather you did not go out with your buddies or girlfriends on Friday night. Just little things like that can change the whole tone of the live in relationship. It is important that you consider all of these things before you give someone a key to your home or you take the key to their home. There will be strings attached to that key that you just might not be ready for.
