We often hear about the myth that Russian women are not career oriented and more inclined to lead a family life. It is important to know here that Russian women who reside in Russia or abroad are not the same. Every woman thinks different and based on her priorities plans to take up that part. The same can be said about Russian women.

Those single Russian women who are more career-oriented mostly because of their family traditions. Economic conditions in the family may have made her chosen a career oriented path. If a family of a Russian woman educates her well with all financial support then she looks forward to leading a professional life rather than a family life.

Russian women also face one major obstacle that creates roadblocks in their career while they are residing in Russia. The population of Russian men is smaller than female population, but this creates a great shortage of male specialists. That is why men are offered positions oftener than women. This makes Russia a more male dominant zone. It often becomes complex and difficult for a Russian woman to prove her competency at work. Even career opportunities are either fewer or not so many for Russian women. To add problems, Russian women are paid less compared to Russian men. A good living standard is not expected for single Russian women and so they aim for the west to lead a better professional life.

Even if some Russian women do reach top positions in their jobs they are often not welcomed or treated equality with men. Men always love to have an upper edge and they like to have a good position with respect. The same position if given to women is often not liked by men and this makes Russian women lead an uneasy life. A Russian woman in job has always to struggle in order to maintain her position in the company she is working for.

The other myth associated with Russian women is that they are very reserved and shy in nature and may not be interested to work. Mostly it is assumed that Russian women are meant to be good housewives. And so husbands need to provide financial security to them for the rest of their lives. This is entirely false. Actually Russian women are very hardworking, intelligent and can excel in any field. They can become a support to their family in times of crisis and work hard to ensure there is no financial instability at home.

The other myth or factor that becomes a barrier for Russian women is a language factor. It is said that Russian women are only comfortable speaking the Russian language and know no other language at all. This will make them difficult when they plan to migrate to countries like America where English is a must. This problem may be faced by Russian women who decide to marry Americans and wish to settle down there. But learning any language is quite easy nowadays. All they need to do is join a learning center and get training to speak the language perfectly.

Russian women are determined to lead a happy life everywhere they wish to go, settle or work. They are ready to overcome any barriers that come into their way for this purpose. So, let us not underestimate Russian women after hearing any of those myths that were discussed above.
