It is true when people say that first impressions count and if you are new to dating then having a fresh white smile is going to be a must before you start.

With the emergence of online dating then for many people who might have been in a relationship for some time they might need to sharpen up their self image and even hoe they communicate with the opposite sex!

A good whitening toothpaste is useful and unlikely to really change the colour that much but a slightly gritty paste is good to keep the staining off the front and rear surfaces.

Mouthwashes
These will some whitening peroxide included which will neutralise the staining in the teeth but like the paste has minimal impact but will not harm having some in the bathroom cabinet.

Home kit/mouth guards and whitening gel kits
These require constant ongoing usage as they are cheaper to buy and therefore not going to whiten the teeth as well as stronger systems. Home kits are useful to maintain the results of whitening but not always to give the best whiteness. This is because they will typically use a carbamide peroxide which weaker than hydrogen peroxide and this does not travel as far in to the tooths core which is what is required to change the colour.

Bleaching trays
These are similar to above but supplied by the dentists to whiten the teeth instead of purchasing over the internet. They take a mould of the teeth and then a lab will transfer the mould in to a set of perfectly fitting trays which you will sleep in for 14 consecutive nights until the teeth whiten.

Laser teeth whitening – power whitening – Zoom whitening
This is the really fast way of whitening the teeth as this method takes only one hour to perform and will results are instant. This is a safe treatment and the use of the light will gently cure the gel to remove the staining and neutralise the colour on the teeth back to white.

So if you are looking to impress then get a decent brighter smile as you might only get the one chance!
